Mother Tongue![]() MOTHER TONGUE Written and performed by Jillian Lauren
Directed by Robert Cucuzza
Los Angeles – New York Times best-selling author and cultural storyteller Jillian Lauren (Some Girls: My Life in a Harem) will debut her original one-woman show, Mother Tongue, in a limited two-night run on July 12 and 13 at the Steve Allen Theatre in Los Angeles. Lauren, a keen-eyed, sharp-tongued writer/performer, will perform her kaleidoscopic new multi-character performance piece about blood, tribe and identity. Both an adult adoptee and an adoptive mother, Lauren explores the quest for a sense of belonging amidst various and often fractured cultural influences.
